Technical Thursday with MDS!

I made this video using SU!'s MDS. I love this program so far,it's very user friendly.....even for a computerly challenged person like me! These pic were taken around the kids birthdays! Since all my kids have their birthdays within weeks of each other,we just have small birthday celebrations.....and because they have them during the Thanksgiving break! They all wanted Sock Monkey's.....those are about $30 bucks a piece!! I thought that was high for a stuffed animal and since they were made in China! But they enjoyed them! I hope you like the video. Just playing with the programs designer templates, but I did add some stuff and delete some things.....it didn't take very long to create all these pages. I like how they turned out! Thanks for stopping by!

My boys and their scarves!

Well,Hunter and Jonathan had to jump in on sewing too!! So,I let them make scarves as well. Jonathan used some of the scrap material Granny sent.Hunter used an old sweater. I just cut off some of the bottom! It was a bit harder to sew because the fabric was stretchy, but for their first time they did pretty good. I had to guide the fabric more with the boys than I did with Callie.Shows you that girls are more patient than boys are!! Thanks for stopping by!

Proud Mom Moment!!

I am having a proud mom moment!!! Callie, my 7 yr. old just finished her first sewing project!!! My mom sent her some scrap material to practice learning to sew on a sewing machine. She made a cute little scarf!! It is quite short, but still,it's cute!! I'm very proud of her!! It took me alot of practice learning my machine.....she has picked it up really well! She sits in my lap and guides the fabric through the machine. I do put my foot over hers to help her try to get an even speed since my sewing machine doesn't have a speed control. I do recommend if you are wanting to learn to sew on a machine ,get a speed control,it would make it a bit easier to learn!! She was scared because she would press her foot on the pedal and it would go fast,so I help her,but other than that, she actually sews it herself!! Thanks for stopping by!

Technical Thursday

For today's Technical Thursday challenge,I worked on this digital scrapbook page using MDS from SU! I love how these turned out! This program is so easy to work with,it took me about 10 minutes on both pages.I used the premade templates,so I just picked the pictures I wanted to use and inserted them. I did add a couple of embellishments and changed the photo layouts, but everything else was already done for me!! This kit is called Hoppy Memories,it's so cute! Thanks for stopping by!

Wow Wednesday

Hello again!! Happy Wednesday to you!! I made this altered pop top can for a gift, you add candy inside and they are super easy to make! Just get any sized pop top can, open from the bottom with a hand held can opener and eat the contents inside(soup, mixed fruit,etc.). Then you wash it in the dishwasher, once dried then you can add you treat inside and decorate! After you add your treat you have to hot glue the bottom back on,then the recipient opens from the top! Great way to recycle as well! They can then use the can as a pen/pencil holder. Thanks for stopping by!
Recipe for Sweet Stuff Altered Can :

  • Cleaned and dried pop top can
  • Cardstock : So Saffron,WW,Chocolate Chip,Pixie Pink
  • DCWV Glittered stripped designer paper from stash
  • Satin pink ribbon from stash
  • pink and white silk flowers from stash
  • Large and Small Oval punches
  • Scallop,1 1/4" and 1" circle punches
  • Stamp Set : Very Punny (retired)
