OWH Sketch #22

Hey Bleeps (blog peeps!),
We got back from our vacation Tues. evening and my dad and step mom left today to go back home!!! We had a fab time at Tybee Island.....but I was disappointed in Paula Deen's restaurant. They DO NOT take reservations for one thing, they open  at 11 am,but people start lining up at 7 am for the first come first serve!!! We got there at 11:45 am.....they DID NOT have a seat for us until 9:30 pm that evening!!Can you believe that!?!?! Needless to say we ate at another restaurant on the river front. Some other people were eating there because they couldn't get into Paula's restaurant either....they told us that some other people they had talked to said it WAS NOT worth the wait!!! I mean it's not like Paula or her son's actually cook there anymore. There was a tour we could've gone on that just took you to some of Paula's fav places in Savannah and then you got to eat at Uncle Bubba's (that's her brother's restaurant)....but that was like $50 bucks!!! Give me a break!!! We were very disappointed in the whole fiasco!!! =(
So anyways ....I got to play with some new Stampin' Up! goodies and try out the new sketch challenge over at Operation Write Home. I love these new colors from SU! they are very vibrant!!

Recipe for card:

Card stocks: Daffodil Delight,Marina Mist,WW,and Cherry Cobbler
Inks: Cherry Cobbler,Ruby Red,Marina Mist,Brocade Blue,Marigold Morning,Daffodil Delight

Gabby's Birthday!!

We celebrated my stepdaughter's Birthday last night.I made her a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Most of the time it works out when she's visiting us during the summer we can celebrate her birthday. I got her a mini scrap booking album and gave her $$$. When kids get a certain age it seems that makes them the happiest!
My son made it to Texas just fine. He sat with another teen on the plane over and they played cards. This was only his second time to fly....he didn't admit it but I think he got a little scared! Well, thanks for stopping by....hopefully I'll have a project to share with you tomorrow!! ;)

Trouble Sleeping!!!

I'm having a difficult time winding down tonight and trying to go to sleep!! My oldest son is leaving at 6am in the morning to go live in Texas with my mom!!! I have mixed feelings about this.....my heart is heavy. I love him and want the best for him.I want him to be happy and healthy....he hasn't been in awhile!
So,I'm going to try to look at the bright side of things....he will be able to start his senior year of high school fresh!!! They have a brand new school that he will be going to .....my mom has a swimming pool ,and he loves to swim!!! All of my family is there, so he will get to see all of his cousins more!! So,I am going to give this up to God, to take this heavy load of stress and worry off of me!!! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my son and us!!! It means the world to know there are people willing to give of a moment of time to say some prayers for us....thank you ....and keep them comin'!!!
Blessings,
Holley

Bummed!!!!

OK,I need to vent!!! A couple of weeks ago I did a really big order for this lady through my Etsy store!!! I was super excited about it!!! I had made some scrapbooking pages (8 of them!) you can click here to see them! Then I made her a card and additional baby critters to go with them!!! You can click here to see the baby critters and here to see the cards. Anyways,I've been selling on eBay and Etsy for awhile now ,with no problems!! She says she didn't get her package....But,I mailed her package to her on May 27 and I paid for the confirmation shipping which said it was delivered at her correct mailing address on May 29!!! (I could kick myself for not getting it insured or something!!! But,I never had a problem before,so it never crossed my mind to do that!!! UGH!!!)
It states on my Etsy that I do not give refunds.....but,I want to make it right with her...so now I have to redo that entire order!!!! The cards and baby critters will not take but a few days....but the 8- two page scrapbook layouts will take weeks to complete!!!
Has anyone else ever had something like this happen??? I'm seriously thinking about shutting down my Etsy now!!!Thanks for letting me vent,on top of stressing about my oldest leaving on Sunday, now this!!! I hope your day is going much better than mine!!! :(

Callie's Card

Here's Callie's card she made with the help of Gabby!!! Have a great day....thanks for stopping by!!!

Blog Candy Winner!!!

Today is the day!! I used Random.org for the first time to pick my blog candy winner. I tried to copy/paste the picture/image to put on my blog in this post, but it wouldn't let me! I know I've seen this on other blogs when they post their blog candy winners!!! Oh,well.....there's probably some trick to it or something and I'm not savvy enough to figure it out!!! So,I took a picture of all the comments that I printed out from my blog instead!!! (My son asked why I took a picture of a bunch of paper!!) LOL!!! I printed all the comments out (30 sheets of paper!)....then I numbered them (is this the way everyone else does it?).

So,then I plugged in 147 on Random.org and hit generate and the number that came up was...46!!! According to my numbering skills :o ....the winner is Tassie!!! Here is her comment she left me :

Prayers Please!

Hello,stamping friends!
I need prayers once again....I know, you are probably tired of my request!
First, my hubby is in Texas(we currently live in GA) ....he will be doing an interview all day today......if he gets the job,we will be moving back to TX,where I was born and raised!!! I feel really good about this, and I'm so very proud of him.
Another thing I need prayers for is my son,Calin. As I've told you before,he has been having trouble for the last 3 years mostly....but all his life. He was diagnosed ADD when he was little, but apparently they didn't diagnose him right. He is now 17 and recently was diagnoses Aspergers....which is a form of Autism. He will be a senior next year...you know how rough High School can be anyways....well it's been really hard for him....he has been bullied and picked on and so forth.....he has always then, bullied and picked on his little siblings too. I guess some sort of retaliation/defense mechanism.
The long and short of it, is since school has been out for the summer it seems he has gotten more aggressive with my little ones. He is getting worse. I have been telling the therapist all along about this behavior. When I recently told him about my youngest son getting a black eye from him,he said we needed to do something....or I could perhaps get all of my children taken away, since I haven't 'done' anything about it.(not that I allowed it....he was talking about ,like calling the police or something....which I promise you if I felt like that needed to happen,I would have!)
Well,I've had to make a very hard decision recently. I have decided to let him move into my mom's house. She lives in TX with my step dad. As parents,we are often faced with hard decisions about our kids, but I just feel heart broken. I know he is going to my mom's and will be well taken care of,it makes it a little easier....but it just bothers me that we won't be a true family anymore. I won't get to be apart of his senior year and so forth.
I just ask for prayers over Calin and my whole family in dealing with this transition in life!!! Thank you so much. I have found some sweet online friends and it means alot when someone you don't really 'know' who is willing to give up a few moments of their time to pray for you and your family!!! God Bless,
Holley
